Sumex has been providing financing and management consulting solutions since 2001.  The focus of the company initially was corporate finance, which included M&A, leveraged buyouts, and management buyouts, and corporate restructuring.  The company would often be contracted to fill senior management roles on an interim basis. In 2011 the company worked with other large residential brokerages to offer commercial mortgage and corporate financing services to their clients.

In 2014 Sumex aligned with Meridian Financial, a division of Mortgage Alliance to leverage their national deal flow to access the rates and lenders only available to large volume national brokerages.  Since then, in addition to the corporate financing services offered, Sumex brokers have been able to provide commercial and residential mortgages at competitive rates to all their clients.
